Basic information

The Office for Informatics and Statistics, as the organizational unit of the City Administration, performs work in the field of informatics that deals with:

Enabling the conditions for more efficient way of functioning of the City Administration and simplifying the fulfilment of the rights of citizens and economic entities;
Making an entirety with the information system of the Republic
Making a plan and programme of the development of the Unique Information System for the City and city municipalities;
Introducing, development and use of the information technologies for the needs of the City;
Establishing methodology, organization and standard of the Unique Information System of Belgrade;
Making preliminary, general designs to the advantage of the City
Making projects, programming, maintenance and exploitation of the following data bases:
- Code book of the territorial division of the City,
- Address system (streets and house numbers),
- Registry of the population of Belgrade,
- Voters’ roll,
- Registry of the legal entities of Belgrade,
- Registry of activities
- Birth, death and marriage registry and registry of citizens
- Family allowance,
- Mother allowance
- Material supplying of families
- Registry of the regulations of the Town Hall.
Providing professional consultant services when choosing hardware and software in computer network of the City;

As for the field of statistics, the Office for Informatics and Statistics provides the following:

Preparing programmes and establishing the methodology for statistical research to the advantage of the City;
Developing statistical information base;
Organization of introducing statistical research at the territory of the city;
Statistical analysis, computer processing and publication of the results of statistical research;
Keeping records of business premises and bond holders of the reimbursement for using the building site of the city;
Entrusted business of the state administration in the field of statistical registries, as well as other business that the Republic gave to the City, concerning the field of statistics.

History of the Office for Informatics and Statistics in barest outline:

Until the World War II, statistical work was being done in the statistical department of the City Head Office
Statistical Office was established in 1948, within the National office of the City of Belgrade
The Office for Statistics was founded in 1951
Automatic data processing was introduces in 1953
Registry of the population was established in 1957
